First Time for Everything Hat

There is a first time for everything, including making a hat! This simple hat is a great way to learn how to read a pattern, work ribbing and decreases, and use circular and double-pointed needles. It is written for four sizes so you can make a beanie or a slouchy hat to fit everyone you know! And if you already have made a hundred hats, this is a great reference pattern for your library.

We used Malabrigo Rios for the pictured hat, but any worsted-weight yarn will work. You will need circular needles in sizes 6 and 8, both 16" long, size 8 double-points, and stitch markers.
