Merry Making Season is Upon Us!

We can't believe it either......the holidays are nearly upon us! That means it's time to put things in gear and get our making on, and we are here to help. Last year, we brought you lots of fun hat ideas. We have new hats for you this year too, but we also have scouted out some other great makes for your gifting consideration. Just like last year, with each week that passes the yarn and needle size will get larger. Let's start with the lightweight hats we like this week.
For knitters, we love the Hat For All Seasons!
It is made with 2 strands of heavenly brushed Suri alpaca, which makes it not only warm and cozy, but also quick to knit. We have made some kits for you with our favorite shades of La Bien Aimee Kumo, just to make it easy, but of course you can choose your own shades if you'd like. Each kit will make one hat. If you choose your own two shades of Kumo or Oh Dang!, you will be able to make at least 2 hats from the two skeins. You can check out the kits here, or the Kumo or Oh Dang!. Download the pattern here.
For our crochet crowd, take a look at the Snow Mountain Hat.
We used 4 shades of Jamieson and Smith Jumper Weight, and again, put together some kits to make things easy. If none of the kits are your cup of tea, you can choose your own 4 shades here. With well over 50 shades in stock, you will be sure to find 4 you love for anyone on your list. Pattern is available here.
We have a few other great hat ideas for you too. If you have lots of lightweight stash laying around, you could give Snap by Tin Can Knits a try.
It uses FOUR strands of fingering weight held together, so not only will it use up all those little odds and ends you can't bear to get rid of, it will knit up in a snap too!
How adorable are these tiny stockings?
The free pattern by Julie Williams is another great way to use up bits and bobs, and are perfect gifts for those people to whom you would like to give just a little something. Pattern is available here.
Do you have a little (or big) elf in your life who needs a hat? Maybe you are a family who likes to take a Christmas card photo with matching hats? Well then, here you go!
Head to Ravelry to download Sif's Christmas Hat.
If you have a single skein of sock yarn in the perfect color for a friend, you can whip up a Venezia by Joji Locatelli in no time at all!
Pattern available on Ravelry.
And last for the week, one more sock yarn shawl....Close To You by Justyna Lorkowska.
It's easy to adjust the size, and will also work well for heavier weights of yarn...just adjust your needle size accordingly.
We hope you will find something here to inspire and motivate you to get started on your gift-making! We will be back next week with more good ideas. Merry Making!
