January's Finish:Start Ratio

I can't believe I am saying this to you, but my ratio in January for finished vs. started projects was amazing. Unbelievable. The stuff of legends, even. Are you ready for this?

Finished projects: 11
Started projects: 4, but I finished 3 of them, so really only 1, right? I'm going with that.

That seems pretty darned good!

The best part is that FIVE of those were sweaters. Ok, 4 sweaters and one vest, but still.

Time for show and tell!

Riddari Sweater for my son, finished a few days in to January. It would have been finished New Year's Day, except that while blocking it, I realized I had added short row shaping to a shoulder rather than to the back neck and had to redo it. Oh well. Still finished!

Autumn Alpine by Caitlin Hunter. I used Making Tracks Lite and a beautiful locally grown natural wool from Oola's Ark. I started this one last summer.

A random crochet vest of no particular design. I started it in the midst of panicked last-minute Christmas knitting because that seemed like a good idea. Also pictured is the Le Bandana Basic Intarsia kerchief that I made for a class project. It is on the started AND finished in January list. I used a bit of the leftover acid yellow from the vest in the kerchief.

I call this one the Clown Car Cardigan, because how many colors can one fit in one cardigan? This ridiculous thing has been YEARS in the making. 4 years ago, Cameron and I each ordered a yarn advent box and made the same project with the boxes. Hers turned out gorgeous and she wears it all the time. Mine turned out too small for a toddler who will only eat fruit roll-ups, and looking like what said toddler finger-painted in pre-school with all of the paints mixed in to a puddle. This month, I dug it out of project prison, added crochet panels to it so it is grown-human sized, and now I almost like it. I've even worn it once!

My latest addition to my apparently endless supply of Carbeth Sweaters...the Carp-Beth. I am absolutely addicted to making Carbeth sweaters with variations, and I have to say this one might be my favorite. I love the texture of the sleeves and yoke, and I adore the Rowan Mode Chunky wool I used.

This random striped scarf and brioche cowl are 2 projects I unearthed when I pulled the Clown Car out of project jail. They each took me literally 20 minutes to finish. I started the scarf 3 years ago and the cowl probably 4 years ago. Embarrassing, but true to my form!

3 Pressed Flower pieces.....the smaller kerchief and hat both made it on to the started and finished list. I'm hoping to finish my Pressed Flowers cardigan this month!

Are you close to getting anything off the needles and on to a body? Let me know in the comments! And stay tuned for the February edition of what I'm getting wrapped up next. We won't talk about the Seaglass Tee I've already started. I'll just include a photo of it, that doesn't count, right?
