First Annual Fiber Market at Stix

All of the Stix Chix are super excited to welcome you to a new Bozeman tradition this weekend: the Bozeman Fiber Market! Join us in our parking lot on Saturday the 11th from 10-am-4pm to shop with local fiber producers, indie dyers, and makers of lots of fun yarn-adjacent products.

In addition to some great shopping, we will be offering some beautiful items donated by the market vendors for a silent auction to benefit the Montana Fibershed. They will have a table at the market and would love to meet you and share their work, but here is a little info about them if you are not yet familiar.

What is this thing called a fibershed? A fibershed  is a "geographical landscape that defines and gives boundaries to a natural textile resource base, engendering appreciation, connectivity, and sensitivity for the life-giving resources within our homelands."

Think “watershed”, only fiber. Where does our fiber come from? Where do our clothes come from? Fiber is yet another farm product that has gotten so far away from its roots, many people don’t even know how or where their clothing is made.

There will also be a tool swap at the market. What is a tool swap? Please bring in to Stix any knitting, crochet, or other needlework tools you no longer use anytime this week. For each item you bring, we will issue a ticket to you. Then, on the day of the market, you can bring your tickets to shop from all of the items on tool table (in the parking lot) brought in by your fiber friends. It's a great chance to clean out and organize your tool box and then maybe find that one set of double points or crochet hook your own set is missing!
Stix will will be offering LOTS of our no-longer-current shop samples for sale at great prices. Now is your chance to snap up that sweater you've admired forever but haven't had a chance to make yourself (but you should definitely tell everyone you did).
Spread the word to all of your yarn-loving friends and bring them along to shop with you on Saturday from 10am - 4pm! It's going to be a fiber-filled day of fun!
