Get your hooks ready for the Whimm Blanket, Brooklyn Tweed's first ever official crochet pattern....designed by our very own Tracy! Let this gorgeous throw bring a little sunshine into your days with bright pops of vibrant color and a snuggly fabric that invites you to relax and enjoy. The simple motifs are soothing and meditative to make....lose yourself in the simple stitches. You can whip it up quickly with the DK version featured on this page, or make a more diminutive baby blanket with a fingering weight here.
We have put together some options for you to choose from in building your perfect combination of colors for your throw. You may choose either Arbor or Smart for your main color. Arbor is hand wash only wool and Smart is superwash wool. Keep that in mind when selecting your contrast color bundle; choosing an Arbor contrast and a Smart main (or vice-versa) will negate the machine wash aspect if that is important to you. If you want your blanket to be machine-washable you must select Smart for both MC and CC bundles.
The blanket pictured here was made with Arbor Thaw (MC) and Arbor Tincture (CC).
When ordering your kit, please choose a Main Color (MC) Bundle and put it in your shopping cart, and then hit the "back" arrow to come back to this page to select your Contrast Color (CC) Bundle and put it in your cart for a total of two items. You will not get all the yarn necessary to complete your blanket without following both of these steps.
You may get more information about the yarns used in the kits by viewing Arbor or Smart separately. You may also choose any color of Arbor or Smart you like for the CC Bundle.....just add either 4 skeins of Arbor or 5 skeins of Smart in your favorite color to your cart instead of a CC bundle from this page.
The design calls for size 7 and G hooks.
If you would like to shop our stock of Arbor or Smart to choose your own colors, you will need the following amounts: Arbor MC -23 skeins, Smart- 30 balls. Arbor CC-4 skeins, Smart-5 balls. Please be aware that even if sufficient quantity is in stock, they may not all be the same dye lot.
Pattern must be purchased separately from Ravelry or direct from Brooklyn Tweed.
