EMBARK ON A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD OF YARN

Many of us have been missing the excitement of packing a bag and hopping on a plane to discover far away places filled with new experiences and adventures. As fiber enthusiasts, one of the first things we do (sometimes even before checking in to the hotel!) is scout out the local yarn venues to discover new yarns or favorite local crafts and techniques.

The past couple of years have put many travel plans on hold, so we have been thinking hard about a way to bring some of the enjoyment of exploring new places and yarns here to us at home. Looking around the shop, we realize we have tons of great yarn from far away places right here on our shelves, with more on the way. If we can't go somewhere new, let's try some yarn from somewhere new, and maybe learn about some local techniques or favorite projects from those places too! Here's how you can pack your virtual bag and join in the fun!

Stop in and pick up (or download and print here) your Stix Passport. We will be letting you know via email and social media about which yarns, events, or classes qualify for stamps to fill up the squares. There will be "check-in" stops along the way to claim prizes, and once your passport is fully stamped you will get a fabulous Stix Carry-On Bag to pack your travel projects when you actually do hop on a plane! There will be plenty of opportunities to collect stamps, so you can participate no matter where you live. You can join in at any time; once a yarn or other product has been designated as a passport-qualifying purchase it will get your passport stamped no matter when you get some.

Cameron and Tracy have been planning a trip to Shetland and Scotland for several years which has been pandemic-derailed. To warm up for that trip when it finally happens, we have chosen Shetland as the first stop on our tour.

We have recently received a huge shipment of Jamieson and Smith 2-ply Jumper Weight yarn....the perfect thing to create a Hansel Hap or an iconic Fair Isle sweater. We are eagerly awaiting the release of the 2022 Shetland Wool Week hat design too; it always uses this yarn for at least one of the colorway options. No matter what you decide to make with it, you will love it. Come in and check it out or order online to get your first stamp on your passport.

Thanks for flying with Stix Yarn!
