In case you hadn’t noticed, Stix now has a brand new website complete with a shiny new online store. Right now we have one product available (yummy Malabrigo merino yarn) and we’ll be adding more in the near future as we work out any kinks.
You also may have noticed that many of our more recent blog posts are missing. In the big cyber move to the new site, some blog posts were lost in the shuffle (just like when you move house) {{{{{deep sigh}}}}
We’ll be adding new blog posts, of course, so keep checking back to find out what’s happening here at Stix and be the first to see what new delicious yarns become available on our virtual store.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY FROM THE STIX CHIX!!!
Because it’s St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday, and it’s also Tracy’s Birthday, and since the boss lady is out of town, and, coincidently, because Brittany likes beer… Stix will be offering a FREE growler from the local Bozone Brewery with every $100 purchase between March 17th and April 1st. Also, your growler comes with a coupon for one complimentary fill-up at Bozone. So if you’ve been dreaming of starting a new sweater you might as well get a free growler with all of that yarn. Or you can forward this email to your husband and give him a little incentive to buy you a $100 gift certificate for your birthday.
Note: Only one growler per customer. $100 purchases do not include sale items or ready-to-wear items.
The Stix Chix are huge fans of Blue Sky Alpacas yarns and their ADORABLE patterns, so we went a little cotton crazy. We’ve got 14 colors of Skinny Cotton and a whole wall full of Worsted Cotton. We’ve got lots of new patterns for both of these yarns and for a short time we have Blue Sky Alpacas trunk show on display so you can see some of these designs in person. Come down and see what all the excitement is about. |
The crazy Stix Chix have slashed prices on loads of stuff. Get it while you can!
Yarns from Berroco and Noro to name a few.
And the most deals are to be had on Books! Hardback and company booklets are a screaming deal.
Check out the bags too! No telling what you’ll find.
See you down at Stix this weekend.
Stix has received two calls for help this week, so we are extending the call to all of you. Please help if you can!
Molly Schwarz from Anderson School is looking for someone to teach knitting to third graders at the school. The program has flexible hours and the duration of the project is also flexible. Please call her if you interested in helping to create a new generation of knitters. 580-1588
Kristina Sykes is a graphic design student at MSU. For her senior project, she is developing knitting kits, and is looking for someone to do some commissioned knitting work for the project. The knitted items are quick, simple, and fun. Please give her a call as soon as possible if you are able to help her with her project. 697-3173
Thanks everyone!
I love it when I hear the UPS delivery man coming down the stairs! Today he brought us two new publications, and I love them both.

Knitting Plus by Lisa Shroyer
Knitting Plus, by Lisa Shroyer, is full of flattering plus-size designs. The garments feature a great range of techniques…….fair-isle, cables, lace……….and they are actually photographed on real people. I think that’s my favorite thing about the book!
We also received the newest issue of Knitting Traditions magazine from Interweave Press. I am on a big fair-isle kick right now, and most of the issue is dedicated to just that. Great socks, gloves, hats, mittens, and felted projects.
This is a great issue which would be a perfect addition to the magazine reference area of my (I mean your) stash. I can’t decide if I want to start the fingerless mitts on the cover or the Appalachian Gathering Basket first. Come down and help me decide!
That’s right, we love it more than the King of Rock and Roll himself.
Those doing the KAL for Ginevra: we will hold this yarn for you until Friday. Then it goes on the shelf.
Malabrigo is here. Yippee!
The lovely Mariana from Malabrigo wrote an email that makes me want to sing! She’s a woman of few words but important ones none the less:
“We’ve processed your yarn order. It’ll ship today.”
Hooray!!!! One new yarn, Rios, and most of the favorites that we have come to love: Twist, Merino Worsted, Lace, Silky Merino and a few colors of Chunky. Rios is their answer to superwash, put very simply on their website: Superwash merino wool 210 yards (192 meters)
Watch this space to hear when the Malabrigo comes in Stix’s door!
